My services has been down from Friday afternoon just after 12pm. I've been in contact with the tech support team where I inform them that the LOS light is no longer flashing since Saturday. I requested that they reset my router immediately which the lady name Nuraan assured me there was vandalism and that wasn't an option. Sunday I checked in again and spoke to her again. Same thing not sure when the services will be restored. Today I check in again I just spoke to a guy call Abdurachman not very user friendly. Ask for an update as its been close to 3 days without any service. To my surprise he said now that he requested for the router to be reset. Something I asked for on Saturday already. I cannot be working from home and not work. I am losing money.
- The LOS light stopping its behaviour suggests a change in the fibre signal status since the initial outage
- The request for a router reset should not be used as a default action when there is a confirmed network-side disruption or possible physical line issues, such as vandalism or fibre damage
- The ONT/router level (customer premises equipment), or
- The external fibre infrastructure (line break, cabinet issue, or node outage)
- We are requesting an updated fault status check on the fibre line and ONT synchronisation
- We are pushing for clear confirmation on whether there is still an external infrastructure issue affecting your service area
- We are asking for time-bound feedback so you are not left waiting without updates again
- Whether your router/ONT shows any other lights besides LOS status
- If other services in your area are affected (if known)
- Whether there has been any technician visit or scheduled dispatch yet
We fully understand that the impact here is not theoretical for you; it is lost working time and income. That is exactly why this has been escalated again for priority handling. Please share these details via private message so we may further advise.
Kind regards,

At this stage, the network provider is still actively working on restoring connectivity for the remaining affected users. While many users have already been brought back online, Vumatel technicians are continuing restoration work for those still impacted. Restoring all remaining connections remains a priority, and engagement with the network provider is ongoing to ensure this is resolved as soon as possible. Your account remains linked to receive an SMS notification the moment the outage is fully resolved and connectivity is restored.

We understand how disruptive this outage has been, especially with a complete loss of connectivity in your area. Here is the latest confirmed update for your region:Area: Blue Downs Zone 2, Cape Town
Outage Start: 22 May 2026 at 11:07There is currently a confirmed network outage affecting the area, resulting in no connectivity. This is not related to your home setup or router, but rather a fault on the fibre network infrastructure itself. Our fibre network partner, Vumatel, has already resumed repair work on-site. This typically means technicians are actively addressing the physical fault, such as damaged fibre lines or infrastructure, which needs to be resolved before services can be restored. What this means for you:
- Your line is down due to a network-level issue, not an account or device problem
- Restarting your router will not restore the connection during this time
- Service will automatically come back online once repairs are completed and the network is stabilised

Vumatel Network Status: https://vumatel.co.za/network-status#incident-details-containerWe are actively monitoring this with Vumatel and will continue pushing for the fastest possible restoration. As soon as repairs are completed and the network is fully restored, your connection should return automatically without any additional steps required from your side.

We understand how frustrating it is to feel left without meaningful updates, especially when you’ve already been without a connection for several days.
The network provider is still actively attending to the remaining users who are down. Engagement with Vumatel is ongoing, and the fault continues to be updated on their side, confirming that technicians are still working on restoring full connectivity. While this does not yet include a confirmed restoration time, resolving the issue for all affected users remains a priority.
We will continue engaging with the network provider and monitoring progress closely until services are fully restored.

We are truly sorry for the frustration this outage has caused. We have not received additional updates from the Vumatel team just yet, and have logged another follow-up with them.

It’s completely understandable to expect consistent feedback, especially after engaging on this matter more than once. Not receiving updates can make it feel like there’s no progress, and that’s not the experience we aim to provide. The fault linked to MWB***6 has been reviewed, and Vumatel has indicated that the issue has been resolved on their side. However, the fault still remains open with our Fault Follow‑ups Team, which means further confirmation is required before it can be officially closed.
Could you please confirm whether your connection is now fully restored and working as expected on your side? This will help ensure the fault is either resolved completely or followed up further if needed.

Thank you for the update. We understand how frustrating it is to still experience poor connectivity, especially after being advised that the issue was resolved on the network side. This is not the outcome you should be dealing with after a fault has been worked on.
To make sure the right steps are taken, could you please share a bit more detail on what you’re currently experiencing? For example, whether the connection is slow, intermittent, or dropping completely, and if the issue is consistent or happens at certain times. This will help us guide the follow‑up accurately and ensure nothing is missed.
