Poor service from MWEB

I had been with Telkom ADSL for over 3 years and decided to move over to a new SP as there was no effort made by them to upsell or even give me options to improve the service. I really had no issues with the package other than me always having to top up my account due to the limited 15GB cap but I was after better performance more than anything else. After months of deliberation I decided to go with the MWEB 145GB package and have the line upgraded.

Initial service from MWEB was fantastic, There was a special at R145.00 and I could then migrate the management of the line as well as upgrade it to 4Mbps so I decided to go ahead with MWEB and cancel with Telkom.

At the end of November last year I cancelled with Telkom and by the beginning of December, around the 11th received confirmation that the line was moved into the holding pool.

MWEB advised that the line can only be upgraded once the line has been migrated to MWEB. Issue was that someone at Telkom did not do their job correctly and MWEB could not take over the line as it was "not feasible"

So a battle with my old SP started and absolutely no form of assistance from MWEB, this is not my actual issue that still has to come. Eventually after several calls and escalations with Telkom, on the 2nd of Feb, the line could finally be migrated and then the upgraded as advised by 2 of the many agents from MWEB that I had been speaking to.

Speak to another agent and they make no mention of the possibility of the upgrade just that the line migration must complete and once done I could call back in and request the upgrade. Get that sorted and get the SMS that my line is now under MWEB, Impressed with the turnaround time so far so I eagerly call back to have the upgrade request done and the person that I speak to takes down my details and casually says that "my area" is not 4Mbps capable and there is nothing that you can do. This is where my issues begin, to add insult to injury, I asked why this was not checked previously and your agent advises me that I should have asked the previous 6 or more people to check if this was possible before, My request from the very beginning was that I wanted the 145GB WITH the 4Mbps line not just one and at no point was I informed that it’s not possible. If I knew then what I know now I would have known that I needed to do your teams job and would have asked to have this checked.

I decided to cancel, my feedback was welcomed and when providing it, absolutely ignored now I need to still give 30days notice for something which I am no longer using and have to also get back into discussions with Telkom because MWEB don’t cancel lines. All of this could have been avoided had I been informed from the beginning. I have now gone with a wireless broadband solution which caters for exactly what I was looking for and have absolutely no issue with paying for the service I received.

The only reason that I am taking this route is because I have received absolutely poor client service from MWEB at the end and absolutely no acknowledgement of YOUR MISTAKES and not mine.

Here is my account number should anyone be willing to look into it.

# ********** 7
