Placed at risk by Mweb
After 24 hours of bureaucracy and trying to reason with Mweb I sadly am left with no option but to resort to a complaint. In brief I was the victim of a cyber attack last week. Someone managed to get my log in credentials for Netflix and first changed the password and then the email address used to log in. I received emails from Netflix confirming this had happened and was able to quickly and easily reset everything via a live online chat. A day or two later I was unable to log in to my (mweb) email and was afraid that the hackers had compromised that too. I struggled to find out how to contact Mweb and eventually managed to via Facebook. They said that my account had been blocked as it had been used to send out spam which increased my fears. I was relieved to find that I could simply change the password on their website and they would then unblock the account. An issue quickly arose though as it requires that they send an OTP to my mobile. Sounds simple but I am living and working in Europe and they will not allow OTP 's to be sent to an international number.
I have since been unable back and forth asking that as I have been a customer for 20 years surely they can find another way but they will not budge. I haven't been able to access my emails for several days now so have no idea what other accounts the hackers may have accessed. Thanks Mweb from a loyal but bitterly disappointed customer
