Paying for a service I cannot rely on

This is a follow-on to a complaint I had approximately 2 weeks ago of a fault logged several weeks earlier (https://www.hellopeter.com/mweb/reviews/a-month-later-with-no-resolution-in-sight- ********** )

Since 26/08/16, Telkom was on site a few days later and replaced a cable leading from the Telkom box and I was told this will fix the issue. It did not.

I contacted Mweb and made them aware of this.

Several phone calls to Mweb, line resyncs later as well as a trip to Mweb’s offices to have my router tested (which, by the way, Mweb said was fine) the problem continued. My ADSL lines continues to lose connectivity (up to 37 times in a 24 hour period!).

The fault was re-opened and today a Telkom technician was on site again. Work was done, routers were tested and according to Telkom, my router (Mweb FON) is in fact faulty. A ‘metallic noise’ of 27dB is on the line and is apparently the cause of my woes.

Phoned Mweb today and was told that this not true. That the router is not faulty and the ’noise’ of 27dB is within an acceptable range.

I pay Telkom and Mweb according to the agreements we have in place, having never been in arrears. I have never given either of them a reason to chase after me asking for payment, so why do I need to chase after them asking for service?

I have literally lost out on money which I could have earned because my ADSL line is not stable. Telkom and Mweb are collectively responsible for a loss in revenue for me.

If it’s not the router. If it’s not my connection to the exchange. If it’s not the physical line at home…then what is it? Do I need to change to a different ISP? Is that what it’s come to?

Mweb, are you able to fix my line or do I need to move my business to an ISP who can actually provide a reliable internet service?

Again, as I've mentioned before, if you are unable to get hold of me on my cellphone, try my landline or e-mail me.
