Paid for service and never received goods

I am out of the country at the moment and wanted to help my mother set up an LTE contract through the website on Sunday 1st May 2022. The process was simple, I used my mother's details and used my bank details to set up the debit order and within seconds the R500 was deducted off of my account. It felt like a great experience and was extremely easy to use and I was happy, this is where all of that stopped. I kept checking in to see the progress of the order but it never changed past 'processing' bearing in mind R500 has being deducted from my account already. There is no way to contact customer support other than a telephone number which I asked my mom to phone and follow up, obviously the customer support is ill trained and can not help her but eventually after a few attempts she is connected to someone that says we need to change the bank details because they don't match the cellphone number supp**** (my mom's number), which we do. In the interim I am sending emails that have generic automated replies and trying to make contact on Twitter.

We are then told it will take several days to process so we wait. My mother has been trying to phone the customer support most of the morning and is constantly put on hold. This is indicative of the terrible service that has become the status quo of South Africa.

Paying for a service and not receiving anything is theft, but business like Mweb are doing this constantly and hiding behind layers of processes to take people's money. Especially the elderly.
