Overcharging and false claiming by MWeb
My invoice this month (August 2017) was padded out by R171 resulting in me being charged for services that MWeb did not provide because the services had been previously been terminated by MWeb itself as a result of Microsoft altering its terms of use for MS Office 365. Attempts to get this corrected by telephone was met by obfustication and downright lies from the consultants I dealt with.
Two years ago, I started a monthly subscription to Microsoft Office 365 with MWeb. The service from Microsoft was excellent.
On June 2nd this year, MWeb informed me that Microsoft had changed their terms of service; the monthly subscription system was being cancelled in 60 days (that is, on 1st August 2017), and Microsoft would require an upfront payment in future. However MWeb would contine the monthly system at higher cost if their current clients were to re-register for this service. I waited until one week after the 60 day period and re registered. So I deliberately re-registered a week AFTER my subscription had lapsed according to MWeb's letter of 2nd June 2017; during this period I could not - and still cannot - access Office 365.
That's when the problem started. The Sales Department fouled up my re-registration and tried to foist a subscription to ShowMax at R99/month on me instead of changing my Office 365 subscription. It took 4 long, unpleasant phone calls and three different operators to sort this out.
My total subscription was supposed to be R304/month (R199/month for Internet access and R105/month for the Office 365 subscription). This morning, I received a demand for R475/month consisting of: 1. R199 for Internet Access 2. R90 for "Office 365" subscription (this service had already been terminated by MWeb) 3. R81 for "Microsoft Office 365 Home - 12 Month payment plan" ((this service had already been terminated by MWeb) 4. R105 for "Microsoft Office 365 Home - 12 Month payment plan" Total R475 (including R171 for services that had been cancelled by MWeb itself)
Attempts to get this corrected by telephone were met by evasions and downright lies, delivered unpleasantly by by the "consultants" concerned.
Is it just me that has received this type of demand, has everyone subscribing to Office 365 been repiied off in the same way? .
