Not the full story and pitiful service

I signed up for fibre with mweb and my line went live on 1 June. About a month before this I enquired how my adsl line - administered by mweb and provided by telkom - would be cancelled. Obviously I wanted to avoid a scenario where I'd be paying for fibre and adsl (with no data) that I no longer needed. No problem, the technical team assured me. They eould send me a sms to inform me that the adsl had reverted to telkom and I could then cancel it. Easy peasy, not?

well... Not. Today, 8 June I had still not received the promised sms. So I phoned mweb. Held for 22 minutes and was told they would transfer me to the retention dept. the call was dropped. I phoned again - a half an hour later I am finally through to someone who sends me the sms. I phone telkom. Well of course they want 30 days' notice of cancellation - something I'd expressly asked mweb about. They had assured me cancellation was.immediate and I wouldn't be stuck with a bill for adsl (and no data) I didn't need. Well mweb, becasuse of your misinformation I will in fact be billed for one month's adsl - at least. I am beyond ****ed off. So mweb, will you be paying my month's adsl that I can't use and that I shouldn't be liable for because I had explained yo you a MONTH AGO that I didn't want to pay for fibre AND adsl?
