MWEB: The Worst ISP Experience I’ve Ever Had — Avoid at All Costs
MWEB: The Worst ISP Experience I’ve Ever Had — Avoid at All CostsBelow MWEB Disconnected Me Immediately, **** to the Fibre Provider, and Left Me Without Internet — Shocking Service
I am posting this review to warn other consumers about my experience with MWEB, which has been nothing short of appalling. My rights as a paying customer have been ignored, dismissed, and outright trampled.
For months, every time my fibre line had an issue, MWeb made me prove the fault. Endless tests, repeated scripts, and no accountability. Instead of investigating, they pushed everything back onto the customer. Support was almost impossible to reach — response times of up to two days were common, even for urgent connectivity problems.
But the real disaster began when I cancelled my service.
I cancelled my fibre subscription effective 31 May 2026. MWEB immediately disconnected me — no grace period, no confirmation, no transition support.
Yet they informed TTConnect that my deactivation date was 28 June 2026.
This means: - MWeb cut my service off instantly - But told the fibre provider I was still active for another month - Which blocks my new ISP from activating my line - And leaves me completely without internet - With no way to reach MWeb to fix the mess they created
This is not a small administrative error — it is a serious breach of consumer rights. I am disconnected, unable to migrate, and unable to get help. MWeb caused the problem, and now they are unreachable to resolve it.
No customer should ever be treated like this.
MWEB has shown: - No accountability - No urgency - No respect for customers - No functional support - No understanding of the impact of their actions
I am now stuck without internet because of their incorrect information and their refusal to respond. This is unacceptable for any ISP, let alone one that claims to be reputable.
I strongly advise anyone considering MWeb to stay far away. If you are already a customer, monitor everything closely — especially cancellations and fibre migrations — because their internal processes are clearly broken.
MWEB has failed me completely, and I would not recommend them to anyone.
We understand how frustrating and disruptive this experience has been, particularly around your cancellation and the resulting loss of connectivity. This is not the experience we want for our clients, and we acknowledge the impact this has had on your ability to move to another provider.
We can confirm that the team handling line releases has submitted a request for an immediate release of your fibre line to the network provider under ticket reference MWB***8. This has been raised with urgency so that the incorrect deactivation timeline can be corrected and your line made available for migration as soon as possible. As soon as confirmation is received from the network provider, you will be updated directly with the outcome.
We remain focused on getting this resolved so your service can be restored through your new provider without further delays, and ensuring this process is handled correctly going forward.
Kind regards,
Mweb Team

However, actions speak far louder than words.Under the circumstances, the very least MWeb should be doing right now is calling both me and TTConnect directly and taking immediate corrective action. An apology does not restore my service - decisive intervention does.I expect MWeb to resolve the incorrect deactivation date today, not at some vague future point.

This is a follow‑up to my original complaint, because the situation with MWeb has not been resolved - despite their public reply claiming urgent action.
After MWeb responded on HelloPeter on 1 June 2026 at 16:55, assuring me that the line release had been submitted “with urgency” and that the incorrect deactivation date would be corrected immediately, I took further steps to ensure progress.
To avoid any misunderstanding, I initiated a chat via the MWeb app at 15:30. Only 3½ hours later did an agent finally respond, telling me that the deactivation issue had been “resolved”. However, they did not confirm whether TTConnect had actually been notified - the one step that truly matters.
This morning, I contacted TTConnect directly.
They informed me that they have not received any confirmation from MWeb. Nothing. No update. No correction. No release request.
Which means I am still stuck in limbo, unable to migrate, unable to get connected, and still dealing with the consequences of MWeb’s incorrect information.
So once again, MWeb’s promises appear to be hollow. They say the right things publicly, but the actual work - the part that affects the customer - simply isn’t being done.
At this point, I am left with no choice but to consider escalating this matter to the Consumer Council. My rights as a consumer have been repeatedly ignored, and the ongoing delays are entirely due to MWeb’s failure to communicate correctly with the fiber provider.
I will continue to update this review until the matter is genuinely resolved - not just acknowledged with words, but fixed with action

We can understand your frustration. From your perspective, despite receiving feedback that the line release issue was being addressed, there is still uncer*****y on whether the necessary confirmation has been completed with the fibre provider, which understandably leaves you feeling stuck and unable to move forward. We can confirm that this matter is currently in progress with our Retentions Team, who are actively engaging with the relevant parties to ensure the line release request is correctly processed and fully confirmed with the infrastructure provider. We do acknowledge your concerns regarding delays in communication and the gap between updates provided and confirmation received. The team is working to ensure alignment between all parties so that the correct status is reflected and the release can be completed without further delay.Once final confirmation is received from the provider, you will be updated accordingly.Kind regards,
The Mweb Team

Thank you for reaching out and for outlining your concern. We understand how important it is for your fibre line release to be confirmed without delays, especially when it directly affects your ability to activate service with another provider. Being faced with conflicting information in this situation can understandably be frustrating.
A request has been submitted to the team handling line releases to urgently verify the current status of your line with TTConnect. They have also been asked to provide formal confirmation and proof of the release, including the relevant details you’ve requested, as soon as this has been confirmed on their side.
Kind regards,

Dear MWeb TeamI am now posting irrefutable proof that the ongoing delay is entirely due to MWeb submitting the wrong disconnection date to TTConnect.TTConnect has provided written confirmation showing that MWeb submitted 28 June 2026 as my disconnection date - despite:
- Your own SMS to me on 22 May 2026 confirming cancellation at the end of May
- Your agent Nicole’s confirmation that my discontinuation date was 31 May 2026
- My service being cut off at midnight on 31 May, proving that MWeb processed the cancellation on that date
This is not a misunderstanding.
This is a clear administrative error by MWeb, and it must be corrected immediately.I am attaching the two pieces of proof:
- TTConnect’s confirmation showing the incorrect date submitted by MWeb
- MWeb’s own cancellation confirmation showing the correct date (31 May 2026)
- Written confirmation that MWeb has corrected the disconnection date with TTConnect
- Proof of the updated release request (date, time, reference)
- Confirmation that TTConnect has acknowledged the corrected date

We understand how frustrating this situation is, especially when an incorrect date submission is preventing your new provider from activating your service. This type of delay can be very disruptive, and it’s completely valid that you’re expecting a clear and immediate resolution.
The matter remains with the team handling line releases, who are currently reviewing the information and working with the network provider to confirm and correct the status. They have been requested to verify the disconnection date submitted and provide you with a formal update, including confirmation and supporting details as soon as this has been addressed.
We remain focused on ensuring the correction is processed and that you receive confirmation on the updated release status without further delay.
Kind regards,
Mweb Team
