My account nr ***6. I have a domain hosting service, 2 fiber lines and a DSL line with MWEB. I've been a client since 2012. I moved residence and on 4 November 2020 requested that MWEB move my one fiber line on 1 December 2020 to the new house. Firstly, it took them until 8 December to do that after numerous frustrating calls. Secondly, once the service was moved did we realise the fiber is damaged as fiber couldn't be tested without service. MWEB offered me a free month for inconvenience and for me not to cancel but used the free months' credit to pay for December. I have made countless attempts to get it resolved but I'm still without the fiber. I've now decided to cancel my account but MWEB still expects me to pay for the entire January and to top it off I have to pay for Feb as well as it needs to be a calendar months notice. I also have to pay a penalty of R1007 and the connection fee of R1007. Bear in mind I'm only cancelling because MWEB can't provide me with a service. ******ION! That's the only way I can describe this case. Every call I've made to MWEB I've asked to talk to a manager but i get either transferred back to the queue where you have to start the selection again with your ID nr. or get cut off. In fact every single time I've called I got cut off. The only person who actually attempted to help his name is Abdul. It seems that MWEB doesn't need my business if they don't even try to resolve the issue or is their cancellation policy actually how they make money. Perhaps this is how you get treated when the company is getting sold for the second time. Also why do you get sold so many times. Perhaps MWEB should rather just liquidate and put all their customers out of their misery. As MWEB has made it impossible to resolve my issue and near impossible to cancel and that I will have to continue to pay for a service I don't have my next step would be to lodge my complaint with ICASA and see how they can assist me.
