I have had hundreds of spam, phishing emails over the last week, 183 in 3 days... more prior to that, Mweb keeps telling me they re dealing with it, but seems incapable of dealing with this matter. My email is almost unusable, its swamped with spam......

Hello Frank. Thank you for letting us know. We understand how frustrating it is to deal with such a high volume of spam and phishing emails. Changes were implemented over the weekend, and our Mail teams are actively working on further improvements as we speak.Mweb is aware of the issue and is focused on minimising these disruptions as quickly as possible. We appreciate your patience while the team continues to address this. R^

Reviewer Update
I have now received over 200 spam or phishing emails in a few days. Clearly Mweb cannot deal with this. This is far from the normal number of spam messages that one gets, this is hundreds of messages. I spend more time blocking and reporting messages than I do using Mweb for its intended reason.

Morning  Frank. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Receiving that volume of spam or phishing emails in such a short period is understandably frustrating, especially when it begins to disrupt your day-to-day use of email. Our teams are actively working on improvements to spam filtering, and adjustments were recently implemented to help strengthen detection. While those updates continue to optimise, there are a few steps that can help reduce the number of unwanted messages reaching your inbox:

Helpful tips to manage and reduce spam:
  1. Mark messages as Spam rather than just deleting them. This helps the filtering system learn and improve future detection.
  2. Avoid interacting with suspicious emails, including clicking links or downloading attachments, as this can confirm to spammers that the mailbox is active.
  3. Create mailbox rules or filters to automatically move known spam patterns or senders directly to your junk folder.
  4. Block repeat senders through your email client, where possible, to prevent further messages from the same address.
  5. Be cautious with public exposure of your email address, such as on websites or social platforms, as these can be harvested by automated bots.

Our technical teams continue to monitor spam trends and refine the filtering systems to minimise the volume reaching customers' inboxes. If the volume remains unusually high, our support team can also review the mailbox and filtering behaviour.
Kind regards,
Mweb Team

Best regards,

Mweb

Having to spend so much time blocking and reporting these messages instead of using your email as intended is understandably very concerning.

We truly appreciate your patience while the team works on addressing this issue and minimising any further impact on your account.

In the meantime, if you receive spam emails, we recommend moving them to your Junk folder instead of deleting them. This helps our system learn and improve future spam detection. Additionally, if you entered your details on any suspicious websites linked in those emails, please change your email password immediately to keep your account secure.

 Kind regards,
Mweb Team
