Mweb Technical assistance Sucks rotten eggs
Mweb changed my password to access my email two weeks ago, without a request from me. Subsequently I am unable to open my emails as the password supp**** by Mweb does not work. I have repeatedly tried to resolve the issue by using the chatbot, but once having identified that it is a technical problem I have repeatedly waited for over an hour to talk with a technician which does not happen. No technician comes online to assist so after an hours plus of waiting I give up each time. Phoning Mweb gives a similar result. I am at my wits end and no further in solving the issue than 2 weeks ago.

11 Jun 2026, 11:49Hi Johan,
We understand how frustrating it must be to lose access to your emails, especially after a password change that you did not request. When something as essential as email stops working, getting it resolved quickly is really important. This isn’t how access to your account should be functioning, particularly after a recent change.
To help restore access, please make sure the new password provided is updated on your email application (especially if you’re using Outlook). You can try the following:
Method 1: Update via Account Settings
Open Outlook
Click File (top left)
Select Account Settings → Account Settings
Choose your email account and click Change
Under Logon Information, enter the new password
Click Next to test → then Finish and restart Outlook
Method 2: If Outlook keeps asking for a password
Go to File → Account Settings → Manage Profiles
Click Email Accounts
Select your account and click Change
Update the password under Logon Information
Click Next → Finish
Method 3: Send/Receive settings
Go to Send/Receive tab
Select Send/Receive Groups → Define Send/Receive Groups
Click Edit, select your account
Go to Account Properties → Email tab
Enter the new password and tick Remember password
Click OK
If the issue persists after updating your settings, please send us a direct message on Hello Peter with more details, and we’ll take a closer look.
We’ll continue supporting you until your email access is fully restored and working as expected.
Kind regards,
Mweb Team
