MWEB *****s from pensioner

On September 30, 2023, my bank account was subjected to an unauthorized double debit by MWEB, amounting to an extra R529. I have been attempting to resolve this issue with your customer service representatives since then, but unfortunately, I have not experienced any success in obtaining a resolution. To compound the matter, I have been consistently redirected to third-party entities, namely Payfast and Vumatel, as the purported causes of this issue. While I understand that outsourcing certain functions is a common business practice, it is disheartening to note that MWEB is unwilling to accept accountability for the disruption and financial burden it has placed upon its customers. As a pensioner, I am operating on a fixed income, and the unauthorized debit has caused considerable strain on my financial situation. It is deeply distressing to find myself in a position where I am penalized for a glitch in MWEB's system, especially when I am not the only customer affected by this issue. I believe that three months is an ample amount of time for MWEB to rectify this situation and refund the amount erroneously deducted from my account. The lack of accountability and the continuous passing of blame to external parties are unacceptable, and it reflects poorly on MWEB's commitment to customer satisfaction. I kindly request that you investigate this matter urgently and provide me with a clear and transparent explanation of the steps being taken to resolve the issue. Additionally, I expect a prompt reimbur*****t of the R529 that was wrongly debited from my account with interest. Failure to address this matter promptly and satisfactorily may leave me with no choice but to escalate the complaint through relevant consumer protection channels. I sincerely hope that it does not come to that, and MWEB can rectify this situation to the satisfaction of a loyal customer. If MWEB needs money ask for donations, don’t ***** from pensioners.
