MWEB - Rediculously pathetic and unfair throttling.
I am currently very displeased with MWEB, as I have a 10mbps line (or rather am supposed to have) and there have been numerous issues over the last few months, however I am currently bringing forth a complaint regarding their "throttling", our line has been throttled due to high usage, we are a house of gamers and a small home business, so the internet does get used a lot, however, my issue is that our line speed has been reduced to a pathetic 0.37mbps (as per line test via speedtest.net), when I phoned in I was informed that "this is how throttling works" so basically they are saying that they are justified at reducing a line speed of 10mbps to less than half a single megabyte for a 30 day period..... I have no idea under which circumstance this could ever bee seen as acceptable. this is clearly a ploy to have "us" upgrade to a more expensive package as that was the "solution" proposed to me by the agent. I personally believe that this form of manipulation of the general public in business to ensure that more revenue is obtained by forcing us (the end user) to upgrade by punishing the end user for using "their services" should be ******* as this is market manipulation if nothing else. it is so utterly sad that we the end user the ones responsible for the company's (MWEB) survival, literally, be mistreated and punished this way simply because the executives are greedy and want to force us into higher costs for "better service", we as clients should by default be entitled to said service from the beginning! The economy does not allow for said "upgrading" to be possible for the average person, most people still to this day cannot even afford proper housing or food let alone internet so i do not know how we can "simply" upgrade in order to receive a better service... one which we should already actually be entitled to. overall I can honestly say that I am really not impressed with MWEB. :(
