Mweb pathetic service

My family and I have been without WiFi service for the past week. During this time, we have contacted both MWEB and Vodacom multiple times; however, we have not received any clear information or meaningful updates regarding the status of the issue or when it will be resolved.

As members of our household work from home, this prolonged outage has significantly affected our ability to carry out our professional responsibilities. We have also incurred considerable additional expenses purchasing mobile data in order to remain connected.

We kindly request an urgent update on the situation, including the cause of the outage, the steps currently being taken to resolve it, and an estimated timeframe for restoration of service.

Dear MWEB Team,

I am writing to express my concern regarding our ongoing internet service disruption, which has now persisted for over 3 weeks or or less.

It has come to our attention that our connection has been switched from Vodacom to Vumatel without our knowledge or consent. This unexpected change has left us without WiFi access, and we have yet to receive any clear communication or a confirmed ETA for resolution.

As a household that relies on a stable internet connection for work, this situation has caused significant inconvenience and additional costs due to reliance on mobile data.

We urgently request:

  • A clear explanation for the unauthorised network change
  • Immediate escalation of this issue
  • A confirmed timeline for restoration of service
Your prompt attention to this matter is highly appreciated, as this situation is becoming untenable.

Hi Ashlene, we can see how serious and disruptive this situation has been for your household, being without a stable connection for over 3 weeks, especially when it directly impacts work and forces you onto mobile data, is understandably frustrating. The lack of communication and clarity around the network change only adds to that concern. To address this properly, the matter has now been escalated to our Complaints Team, who will take full ownership of the investigation. They will review the service change in detail, including the network migration query, and work to establish exactly what occurred and why. They will also provide a clear explanation regarding the reported network switch, engage the relevant technical teams to prioritise restoration, and come back with a confirmed update and resolution timeline as soon as possible. We understand how important stability is, especially when you rely on your connection for work, and this has been treated with the urgency it requires. The Complaints Team will be in direct contact once they have completed their initial investigation and have a clear update to share. Kind regards,
 The Mweb Team
