Mweb no service

Mweb is not taking queries seriously. I have been struggling for days with them.

I am now trying to find out what my costs will be should I decide to cancel my accounts. For some reason Mweb has decided not to use email addresses. What on earth must I do to get any sensible written reaction out of Mweb?

I have never experienced this bad service in my life; there is no service. Communicating over Live Chat is not working and waste my time.

Hi Dr John Mostert,
We understand how frustrating it must be to struggle to get assistance when you need it most, especially after making repeated attempts to have your query addressed. Feeling unheard when you’re trying to get clear answers around your account can be very discouraging. That’s not the level of support and responsiveness you should be receiving, particularly when you’re trying to understand your cancellation terms. To ensure this is properly addressed, we’ve arranged for the Cancellations Team to review your account in detail and reach out to you directly to clarify your cancellation terms, notice period, and any associated costs.
If you’d like any further assistance, please send us a direct message on Hello Peter, and we’ll gladly continue supporting you.
Kind regards,
Mweb Team

Mweb's lack of sensible reaction really astonishes me.

  • I reported my lack of service on 6 June 2026. This was done via a telephonic call to the technical department of Mweb. To date, Mweb has only reacted telephonically. In my opinion, these conversations, like Livechat, are of no assistance and carry little evidentiary value. The approach of Mweb to call me and then expect me to hold on for about 45 minutes is uncalled for.
  • In one of these Livechats on 11 June 2026, I informed Mweb that I am cancelling all my accounts with Mweb with immediate effect.
  • On the same date, I also requested a closing balance from Mweb. I have two different balances. The one provided to me via Livechat being R690.00 and the other balance, on the app, being R1,378.00.
  • I have repeatedly requested that a statement of account and also banking details be provided to me. I was ready to settle the account immediately.
  • Mweb has not reacted to my request.
  • I have instructed the bank to stop the debit order in favour of Mweb with immediate effect.

It is in my experience absolutely bizarre that Mweb insists that I communicate with themselves directly via HelloPeter. Mweb insisted that I use the direct function with HelloPeter, yet they fail to react sensibly via Livechat or telephonic calls. How on earth does Mweb accept this to be an acceptable way of communicating with their clients? It is a troublesome turn of events. Why this apparent attempt to obscure the true facts?

I reserve the legal right to hold Mweb accountable for the large amount of my monetary losses. This accountability might include the Mweb staff in their personal capacity. I also reserve the right to report this matter to ICASA.

I question whether Mweb considered the implications of Act 68 of 2008. It is important that the quoted legislation is duly given effect to.

Mweb's latest message on HelloPeter is a narration without Mweb applying it to themselves. To date, I have not had any reaction as promised in their HelloPeter message.

Hi Dr John Mostert,
We understand how frustrating and concerning this situation must be, especially after multiple attempts to obtain clear information, consistent communication, and written confirmation of your account details and cancellation. Feeling that your concerns are not being addressed properly can understandably lead to a loss of confidence in the process, and this is not the experience we aim to provide.
We have escalated and requested that our Cancellations Team reach out to you again as a priority to address your concerns. This includes providing clarity on your cancellation status, confirming your final balance, and ensuring you receive the necessary documentation and banking details to proceed without further delay.
Kind regards,
Mweb Team

I am speculating about Mweb's recent replies. The latest repetition of phrases by Mweb suggests "parroting". Mweb's most recent reaction on HelloPeter is a senseless narration without action. You refer and agree that I experience frustration, and yet your promises do not materialise.

The loss in income (personal loss) should be reconciled with your subjective calculations. I reserve the right to keep Mweb and its staff accountable for gross negligence.

I repeat that my cancellation, with immediate effect, was effective 11 June 2026. The debit order was cancelled by me on 11 June 2026.

What on earth goes beyond Mweb's comprehension that supersedes the mere submission of Mweb's detailed statement of account and also their banking details? I need this information/documentation from Mweb directly on Mweb's letterhead.

Mweb, it seems your lack of intelligent action has become a stumbling block in a very uncomplicated matter.

Mweb is not able to apply their own commitments to perform.

Mweb's inability is shocking. I urgently need to contact Mweb's CEO but Mweb does not respond to my serious request to provide me with the contact details (email and office addresses).

I have no alternative but to lodge a claim against the CEO of Mweb and Mweb for gross negligence. The amount of personal losses (not Mweb's misguided calculations) has reached enormous proportions.

Mweb should bear in mind that ********ia juris non excusat.

I have never experienced this low level of knowledge and understanding.
