Nearly a month ago I was captured by the advertising on the Mweb site that LTE-A was the answer to my slow ADSL speed (6mbps and only receiving about 2mbps). On the site I was able to enter my address and it showed that for about the same price as my ADSL I could get a free LTE-A modem from a company called RAIN (www.rain.co.za) with a cap of 120 GB per month and that I could get speeds of up to 30mbps. What a deal right, same price and triple the speed. WRONG, firstly if you are able to get the LTE modem to pick up the broadband without having to climb the roof you will be lucky, and secondly when you finally find a spot in you home that can get like 1 bar you will get speeds of no more that about 1-2mbps. This is download speed. Upload speed if you can get it is about 0.3mbps allowing you to send the odd Whatsapp message or Messager complaint to MWEB to come and collect this useless dust collector. My complaint to these companies was from Day 1 on installation and a month later I am still stuck with not even a courtesy call from RAIN who I am now told are the service provider and not MWEB who I paid to sort this out. Nice messages from MWEB on Messenger that they are aware of the problem, but still no service. Also told that this is a year contract and not easy to get out of. My gripe to all these companies is, when you advertise a service and product and it does not work the client is entitled to return the product and the contract be made void. Please can someone in a senior position please make contact with me as I am now on my last method of communicating with you as no joy from your call centres.
