Mweb is the worst internet service provider
Mweb is the worst provider for fibre. When one wants to sign up for your products very fast you'll call us but when we have issues it's so freaking hard to get through to you'll. From Tuesday I'm trying to help my mother get her fibre reconnect after my mother paid what was due which was R738 but my mother paid R750. She is a pensioner and had to buy airtime to call in only to be caller no2 for 30 minutes. We finally get through to an agent she says she captured the account and everything is working whole of Tuesday without fibre. I called the technical department they then explained my mother account has been suspended in order for it to be lifted we must call sales, they transfer the call wait another 30mins an agent name Ashwin(who was helpful and did try his best) said we have to call billing but he asked if we have enough airtime my mother said no so he called us back and transfered us back to billing. We were caller no2 for another 30mis when we were about to get answered they cut the call on us. Ashwin phoned us about 15mins later asking if we got help I told him no, he put us back through to billing which we then waited an hour to get through and I was caller no2 again for that hour. We eventually gave up. Yesterday I used the live chat and was on line by 08:00 to be exact and still had to wait after an agent was assigned to me why did I have to wait since I have an agent shouldn't she finish up with my issue before attending another customer? Anyway it was sorted the suspension was lifted. I was then put through to sales which the guy called me and asked if my mother would like to stay on the package she's on but she said she'd like a cheaper package and was told to pay r239 but my mother paid r250 still no internet. This morning I call because the money paid was not captured so now they capture it but still no internet. Why is the waiting period 24/48 hrs? Because I can bet if my mother was a new customer it would of been on and working by now. My mother wants her full refund of R1000 in total that she paid so she can go to another service provider who treat their customers like they the only ones. This is very frustrating and a pathetic service provider who will go the extra mile to get you on their services and once you one they kick you to the curb.
Thank you for taking the time to share this detailed feedback. We fully understand how upsetting and exhausting this situation has been for you and your mother, especially given her circumstances and the amount of time, money, and effort spent simply trying to restore a service that was paid for. Being passed between departments, waiting on hold repeatedly, experiencing delays after payments were made, and still being left without connectivity is understandably frustrating and distressing. This is not the level of care or fairness we aim to provide, particularly to long‑standing customers and vulnerable customers such as pensioners.
We have taken note of the payments made, the reconnection attempts, and the repeated challenges encountered across billing, sales, and technical support. To move this forward, we have reached out to the team that handles activations and expressed the urgency of completing the order, with a request that they urgently follow up and provide the account holder with feedback by email as soon as possible. The intention is to ensure clarity, accountability, and a clear next step, rather than continued delays and uncer*****y.
Your feedback regarding the prolonged wait times, repeated transfers, payment handling, and overall experience will be shared with our Service Quality Team for review and improvement, as it highlights serious gaps in service delivery and customer support that need to be addressed.
If further assistance is required once feedback is received, you’re welcome to continue engaging with us via Hello Peter.
Kind regards,
Mweb Team
