MWEB does not care about the SA consumer
I sent this to MWEB:

\I entered into a 24 mths contract with Mweb on 27 Dec 2012 for an ADSL data package. It was part of a special at Makro which included a Blu-ray player. I actually never used the data as I also had a Telkom ADSL package and would have used the Mweb package as a top up if needed but never did.

I recently saw that I am still paying Mweb the R199 pm even though the contract should have ended at the end of Dec 2014.

I cancelled the contract today:
Ref ***
Abdul Otto
Final bill end Aug

I was told by Abdul that I cannot claim back the money charged since Jan 2015 even though I did not use
the service.

Can I ask you to urgently look into this for me and reverse the charges - especially since I never even used it
for the 24 months of the contract and to then go on paying beyond that is just totally ridiculous."

The never sent me a notice after 24 months asking if I want to carry on with the contract - no"
As per your discussion with one of our representatives the contract has been explained.
All contracts automatically change to month-to-month at the end of the agreed period for which you have signed. Month-to-month contract terms would then apply which includes a calendar month notice for cancellations.
Kind Regards
