I informed Mweb at the beginning of January already that we would no longer be needing our fibre as we had sold our house and the new owners were going to take over the fibre. I was told that I would just be liable for the clawback fee and called last week to find out what the clawback fee was. I also informed them that the new owners had decided to take out their own mweb contract. In fact I think that they have already arranged everything with mweb as they asked for the fibre number on the instrument.
Last week I received an email stating that I would have to either pay a cancellation fee of R1860 or pay for one more month subscription. I queried this and was sent an invoice for next month’s subscription.
Regardless of whether the new property owners took over the fibre or a new contract with Mweb, I informed them at the beginning of January that I would no longer be needing the fibre as of the end of February. This equates to almost 2 months notice.
As far as I am concerned I have given mweb sufficient notice and am only liable for the clawback as agreed.
