Hello Michael
We can understand how frustrating this situation has been, especially after such a long wait in the queue and still dealing with such severe performance issues on a 300 Mbps line. Sitting on hold for hours and not reaching support in a meaningful way, while your upload drops to around 1 Mbps, is a very disruptive experience.A drop like this is not normal for fibre and usually points to a specific fault somewhere in the service chain rather than general usage. In most cases, it can be linked to a provisioning or profile issue on the line, a fault on the ONT or fibre termination, router or Ethernet cable problems, or an issue on the local network node. Less commonly, background uploads or device syncing can contribute, but not to this extent. While waiting for assistance, a few quick checks can help narrow things down:
- Test directly using an Ethernet cable instead of WiFi
- Restart both the ONT and router (power the ONT first, then the router)
- Pause any cloud backups or large uploads running in the background
- Try a different Ethernet cable or LAN port if available
These steps help confirm whether the issue is on the physical line, the equipment, or the service configuration. Please reach out to us via private message for any further support or discussion. We are here to assist you.
Kind regards,
