I phoned Mweb on Thursday the 05th May querying the reduction of upload speed on their R499.00 package from 25mbps to 10mvps. My query was I have signed a contact for 12 months and now they are breaking that contract by giving me a reduced service. I was told that it was a promotional package and could be changed.. I objected and said that this was not made clear upfront and not acceptable. Call centre agent said a supervisor would call me. A week later still waiting for the call. I phoned again today and was told that at anytime the fibre provider to Mweb could change the package price and I would have to pay the increase. Once again I disagreed with the call centre agent. I was told I have to accept the reduced service and stay on the current price or pay an extra R100.00 to get the same line speed. BE VERY CAREFUL with Mweb. They will promise you all kinds of things to get your business and then move the goal posts later.
