False advertising - MWEB and OPENSERVE
On 31 July 2018, I have app**** through MWEB for fibre. They indicated that free installation valued to R2,300 is included in the deal (the free installation includes 8 meter of additional piping and cabling via their infrastructure partner OPENSERVE). Any additional pipes and cables will be I need to provide but OPENSERVE will provide a quote on these and that will be payble directly to OPENSERVE.
However, after several inspection Openserve discovered that their infrastructure runs on the other side of the road and that they will have to cut through the road for access to my home. They then backtracked on the offering from MWEB and demanded that I do the full piping and cabling from my home to the manhole on the other side of the road.
I don't have a problem with this, but then the "free installation" of R2300 needs to be credited to my account to help pay for the installation I need to do on behalf of Openserve. MWEB never came back to me on this proposal.
I feel MWEB did false advertising of "free installation" when I have to pay the full bill also **** about OPENSERVE will do the installation and do a quote on the work (free portion = cabling to home beyond 8 meters. OPENSERVE failed as the infrastructure provider by not providing cabling to run on both sides of the road. Both wants to make money but expect the client to do all the work for them.
