Extra charges on account

I have the Mweb Fibre which is mknth to mknth service, I didn't pay in June as my children were writing exams however Mweb still trys to debit for a month a didn't use. When I signed up it clearly states month to month so if I don't need the services for a specific month, I won't pay for it. How can a company charge for services not provided.
