************, ******* business practices. Corporate Bullies!
I have never come across a more arrogant and ********* business. I was a customer with Ignite for over a year or so with only a few minor issues. After trying to change my card on the system after it expired and no one assisting me, i just logged onto the portal every month and paid my bill manually, and this worked for many months. Then one day (August) i logged in and couldn't pay on the system. I went through my emails and found one informing me that my service was now going to be with Mweb. This ****ed me off. Noone asked me if i wanted to be an mweb customer. No one asked me to opt in and agree. Noone asked for permission to share my personal details or credit card details or banking details with mweb. I even took the initiative to log on to the mweb system and there was no place to pay like i had done on ignite, so i switched my LTE router off and got fiber installed with another more reliable supplier. Then in September i get a snooty email saying i owe them R1800 some change. I called them to say thank you for finally contacting me and informing me i am a client, but i have never signed up to them or agreed to any service agreement with them and that i have not used their service since i discovered they were providing it and i do not owe them anything. They said unless i formerly cancelled my contract with a months notice then i owe them the money. How can i cancel if i didn't know i was a client and if i was still an ignite client i would not have cancelled. They then *******ly took my card details from the Ignite platform without my permission and charged my bank card for the full amount without my permission. I reported the charge to FNB as ***** and FNB acknowledging that i did not give permission for the transaction reversed the transaction. This also put me in a difficult position with some amounts i had budgeted for being affected by them *****ing money from my account. Now in November i get an sms from them saying that if i do not pay what is owed to them they will have me listed on the credit bureau. I would like to see them prove i owe them money. I have no contract or agreement with them and i dispute that i owe them money. I called the number on the threatening sms and asked to speak to someone who is in charge that can assist me. after trying to give me a complaints@ email I said i want a human with a name they said they would put me through to some CEO's line. and guess what after ringing for about a minute the call cut. I would never recommend this company and i will never use them. The reason i went with ignite and did not want to be an mweb customer in the first place was because i had read the bad reviews of terrible experiences and then they get forced upon me against my will. I will fight this and i will be lodging a complaint with the consumer protection commission. This is unacceptable corporate bullying.
