Experience with Mweb not too bad, except for a message I sent a while ago about our Yealink land line

Experience with Mweb not too bad, except for a message I sent a while ago about our Yealink land line. When dialling out the screen on the Yealink shows Forbidden...why ?? I cannot use the landline for a while.

Hi  Brenda.
We understand how important your VoIP landline is, and seeing a “Forbidden” message on your Yealink device can definitely be confusing, especially when you rely on it for calls. Let’s help you get this resolved.
A “Forbidden” response on VoIP equipment like Yealink usually points to a registration or authentication issue on the SIP service. Here are some practical steps you can try:
  • Restart the device and router
Power off both your Yealink handset and router/ONT for 2–3 minutes, then switch them back on. This refreshes the VoIP session.
  • Check SIP registration status
On the Yealink screen or web interface, confirm whether the account shows as “Registered”. If it is unregistered, the device cannot place calls.
  • Verify credentials (if recently changed or reset)
Ensure the SIP username, password, and server details are correctly configured. Even a small mismatch can trigger a “Forbidden” response.
  • Check outbound call restrictions
This message can also appear if the line is temporarily restricted due to account status or provisioning issues, so it’s worth confirming the service is active on your account.
  • Test with a different outbound number
Try calling a mobile number or a different landline to rule out destination-specific blocking.

If the issue persists after these checks, it may require a refresh of your VoIP provisioning from our side. We can assist further by verifying the line registration and ensuring the SIP profile is correctly synced via private message.
We appreciate you highlighting this, and we’re here to help get your landline working reliably again.

Kind regards,
The Mweb Team
