Don't touch MWEB - when you do, they tie you down for life!

Be warned before you open an Mweb account.

They are VERY keen and helpful to help you open it, but it is virtually impossible to get hold of them to close it!

Their chatbot reply with:

"Please hold while we connect you to the next available agent. Please do not close your Browser or Mobile App, or allow the screen to lock while you are holding for an agent. We are aware of a temporary issue with chats being lost in these circumstances." and then hangs forever. I've been waiting 50 minutes now without any response. And everything is open as asked.

While waiting for the bot to respond I phoned them. Same story. Get account verified & are then asked to wait for an agent. 50 minutes? Surely it can't take that long. No reply to say they're busy or offer an option for somebody to phone me back.

And no email address anywhere on their website to email any request for cancellation.

Help Centre says you must cancel on the app or desktop once logged into your account.

Absolutely no direction on where to go to do so however.

They really make it beyond frustrating to put a cancellation through - hoping that way to keep clients.

Once I get to close my account, I will make very sure not to register for anything with Mweb ever again!
