DISGUSTING, HORRIBLE, THE WORST!

Honestly, I’ve had it with Mweb.

Nearly **2 hours on a chat line** just to be told I must now be transferred to a “fulfillment department”?! Are you serious?

Last week I requested a simple upgrade to a **20Mbps line** and to add DStv — and guess what? I’ve already been **billed**, but absolutely **nothing has been activated**. Not a single thing.

And to make it worse, one of your agents actually called me and PROMISED everything would be sorted right after the call. Clearly, that meant nothing.

At this point, it’s honestly pointless being your customer. **Every single month there’s some kind of issue**, and it takes **weeks to fix**. It’s exhausting and beyond frustrating.

This is by far some of the **worst customer service** I’ve ever experienced.

Sort this out. Seriously.

Hello Ashley,

We understand how frustrating it must be after a long wait and still not having your 20Mbps upgrade and DStv activation completed, especially after being billed and previously assured that everything would be resolved.

We have reached out to the team responsible for DStv orders to urgently follow up and provide you with feedback via email, and your Sales team will also be contacting you directly to assist with completing your upgrade request. The matter has also been escalated internally so it can be reviewed, and your experience will be shared with our Service Quality Team for further attention.

If you need any additional support, you are welcome to message us on Hello Peter and we will gladly assist further.

Kind regards,
Mweb Team

Best regards,

Thank you for the response, but I’m struggling to understand a few things.

Why am I being asked to speak to the Sales team again if the new package has already been added to my next billing date? That clearly shows the request was processed on your side.

Also, why am I being charged for a service that has not been activated, especially when the request was made and confirmed on the 7th of April?

From my side, everything was done correctly and confirmed, yet I’m the one having to follow up repeatedly and now being redirected again.

I need clear answers on this, not more transfers between departments.

Hello Ashley,

We understand your frustration, especially as you have already followed up multiple times and are now seeking clear and direct answers rather than being redirected between teams.

To clarify, your DStv service is not yet active on your account. As such, no billing for the DStv service will only apply once it has been successfully activated. We completely understand how confusing this may appear when changes are reflected on billing cycles, but activation must be completed before any service charges apply.

In addition, the Sales team escalation relates specifically to assisting you with your upgrade request to the Uncapped 20Mbps package, ensuring that this is correctly processed and fully completed without further delays or discrepancies.

We appreciate your patience while these processes are being finalised, and your concerns regarding communication and clarity have been noted.

Should you need any further assistance, you are welcome to send us a direct message on Hello Peter and we will gladly assist.

Kind regards,
Mweb Team

Thank you for the clarification, but this still does not make sense to me.You’re saying that no billing will apply until the DStv service is activated, yet my upcoming bill for 1 May is R666, while my normal monthly fee is only R369.So how is it possible that I’m being billed almost double when, according to you, nothing has been activated yet? Also, if the upgrade and services are supposedly still “in process,” why are these charges already reflecting on my account? This is exactly the kind of confusion I’ve been dealing with.At this point, I need a clear breakdown of my bill and a proper explanation of:
  • What the R666 charge includes
  • Why it’s higher than my usual monthly fee
  • How I’m being billed for services that are not yet active
I don’t want reassurances anymore — I want transparency and accountability. Please explain this urgently.

Hi Ashley, we can completely understand your frustration here, seeing a higher-than-usual amount while you’re being told services are still in process is confusing and understandably raises concern. We want to assure you that we’ve escalated this to our Billing Team to provide a full and detailed breakdown of your account. They will review exactly what the R666 charge consists of, why it differs from your standard monthly fee, and how the billing has been calculated in relation to your current service status and pending activation. The team will come back with a clear, transparent explanation so you can fully understand how the charges were app**** and ensure everything on your account is correctly aligned. We appreciate your patience while this is being investigated and will ensure you receive clarity as a priority. Kind regards,
 The Mweb Team
