Consumer Exploitation
My journey with Mweb begins with their Facebook add claiming they sell fibre for just R19/month. Immediately intrigued I signed up for the deal. I received my router but when it came down to being charged for the service the fees Mweb accumulated against my account was for services not provided and penalty fees app**** in spite of never actually having been given access to the internet nor had an openserve agent been to out property to perform an installation as stipulated by their charge sheet. Needless to say the account has gone from R19 to just under R4000 in under 2 months an incredible feet for a company following along the same lines of webafrica who was recently fined for not publicly making their contact information available. Every month there is a debit order loaded on my account to process this amount, I only imagine how many countless others this has occurred to. I have not been able to contact anyone from Mweb to query this account nor set them straight with respect to their contravention of the consumer protection act with respect to transparency and contactability.
Could you refrain from trying to strong arm another consumer using flagrant advertising and legal fronting for the basis of your income recognition. This is not a credit product, stop threatening blacklisting as this is not a recourse for you and your company. It's downright manipulation and distortion of the facts. This is downright consumer exploitation.
