Cannot get connected with fibre

For about a month I've been trying to get MWeb to connect fibre up to our house and despite being shunted from pillar to post I cannot. Firstly they send Telkom contractors who say you need a conduit which you must provide in order to run the fibre to thehouse as we want to run it along the wall otherwise it will obstruct the access pathway to the garden (and the fibre would be damaged), so we spend many hundreds of rands on this. They then don't arrive when promised nor contact us again. We call MWeb again and this time Open Serve comes and says they can't use that conduit - it must be provided by some third (unknown) party and they promise to sort it out but we never hear from them again. We call the call centre and speak to Lorenzo who promises to resolve it and call us but never does, we then speak to Norma who also makes the same promises but does nothing and provides a reference number which now no one in the call centre seems to have heard of. The call centre can't seem to even find anything on the 'system'. After hours and hours of wasted phone calls and time wasted during the above site visits we still are not connected. We will have to go elsewhere to an efficient service provider as MWeb doesnt seem to care to retain a longstanding customer. They can't organise anything and can't even get anyone to call us back. But we must just wait and wait and wait... It's totally unprofessional and unacceptable.

It is pointless calling and not leaving a contact number or audible name of the person so that I may call back. I am running a business so deal with my own clients per telephone and was on a call at the time. I have a message from someone who spoke so fast I could not hear or make out his name, nor did he leave a contact number, all I could glean is that he was from MWeb and would call me Friday afternoon. I do not wish to be called on Friday afternoon. If you had left a contact number and name I could return your call, but I cannot. And I do not wish to wait until Friday when today is Wednesday. More time wasted and no assistance.

This again reaffirms the fact that MWeb does not place customers first - you will drag this out forever so that I am forever frustrated. I am advised that WebAfrica is quick to respond and deal with customers swiftly and provide service fast. You should learn from them. If you wish to retain my business kindly give me on this site a phone number and name of the person who is going to sort out this mess. I cannot keep going via the call centre and dealing with umpteen different people and explaining over and over again for weeks and weeks and getting nowhere.

My fibre is finally activated. Thanks Bronwyn for resolving the matter.
