Good day, Nomfanelo,

We completely understand how frustrating and disruptive it must be to be without internet for the past 24 hours, especially after spending hours on hold without reaching a consultant. Being in a situation where your connectivity is down while trying to work, study, or manage daily tasks can be very stressful, and it’s clear that this experience has caused significant inconvenience. Waiting on the line for long periods only adds to the frustration, and this is not the level of service you should expect.

We don’t see any outages reported for your area. A port reset has been done on your line, so please try restarting your router to see if the connection has been restored. If the connection remains down, please send us a direct message on Hello Peter confirming the status of the DSL/ADSL light. This will allow our team to determine the next steps and provide the most effective assistance to get your service back up as soon as possible.

Kind regards,
Mweb Team

 Hello  Nomfanelo.

Thank you for your patience while we work through this with you. Just to clarify, there’s an important difference between a restart and a reset
  •  A restart simply means turning the device off and back on. This refreshes the connection and is safe to do.
  •  A reset restores the device to factory settings, which can remove your configurations and require a full setup again. We’d like to avoid this unless necessary. (not recommended without the guidance of a support agent)
At this stage, we recommend performing a restart of your equipment to help refresh the connection session, especially after a port reset has been done on the line. This can often help re-establish a stable connection. Here’s what to do:
  1.  Switch off your router and fibre device (ONT).
  2.  Wait for about 30 seconds.
  3.  Switch the fibre device (ONT) back on first and allow it to fully boot up.
  4.  Then switch your router back on.

This process allows the line to reconnect cleanly and may restore your service.

If the issue continues after this step, please let us know so we can proceed with further checks and keep things moving towards a full resolution.

Kind regards,
The Mweb Team
