An MWEB customer who managed to do what MWEB could not do in 3 weeks, in a single day
Placed an online order for fibre connectivity at a new property I moved into (fibre already installed). Phoned back within 24 hours by MWEB to confirm the order, and also to be informed at the same time that the line is still being occupied by a previous ISP. Reassured me they would take it up with the fibre provider and provide feedback. Contacted 1 week later with no progress - got asked to forward a proof of address/ownership of the new property to allow them to facilitate the process which I duly did. Called back another week later saying the line is still occupied, and that I must maybe try to contact the previous owner to cancel his service (Note I already did this after the first call from MWEB with the owner confirming that he did cancel his previous ISP contract). After 3 weeks and absolutely no effort from MWEB to resolve the problem, I contacted the fibre provider as a last resort and managed to get the line cleared within 24 hours. I can not comprehend why MWEB as an ISP, and who works with fibre providers on a daily basis, could not resolve this issue. Now that I managed to free the line, I am waiting another estimated 5 days for router delivery and then still ISP activation. So all in all approximately 1 month to just connect and activate a fibre line already installed. Some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced, and I recommend to all consumers that an alternative ISP be used if available.
