I take back all I said! It appears I was duped by the agent to get the package. They assured me that the processing fee of R249 will be waived, and I took the package based on that! Apparently that’s not possible.

I think let’s be honest with customers when conducting sales, because this is a form of manipulation and this will be reported to the consumer protection department.

Hi Avuyile,
Thank you for coming back to us and for explaining what has happened. We understand how upsetting it is to feel misled about fees, especially when your decision to proceed was based on assurances given during the sales process. Feeling caught off guard by a charge you were told would be waived is understandably frustrating, and we acknowledge how this has impacted your trust.
We have reviewed your account and can confirm that a credit request has been logged for the R249 processing fee to be waived. This has been submitted to the relevant team for review based on the information you’ve shared regarding the commitment made during sign‑up. The matter is now being assessed accordingly.
If you still require assistance or would like us to check the status of the credit request, you’re welcome to reach out to us via Hello Peter, where we can assist further.
Kind regards,
Mweb Team

For two weeks I have waited for an update on my connection, only for MWEB to just cancel my order with no warning whatsoever. I’m informed via an sms that states:

Mweb: Your Fibre order has been cancelled. This could be due to your body corporate/landowner not giving permission for installation. Currently there are no other Fibre services in your area.

However when I reach out to my body corporate, they are a part of Gaia Fibonacci! So they took back their router and cancelled my order and I’m stuck with no WiFi after going back and forth with them for DAYS!!

What a horrible experience, what an inconvenience.

Hi Avuyile,  Thank you for your message, and we understand how frustrating this experience has been after two weeks of waiting for updates and then receiving a cancellation without prior clarity. Based on the fibre network feedback received, the order was returned as unserviceable due to installation permission constraints, which resulted in the cancellation being processed at network level. As a result, the original fibre order cannot be reinstated or progressed further through Mweb. At this stage, there are no alternative MWEB fibre packages available on this specific network build for your address, meaning the service cannot continue under a different fibre plan. As an alternative, MwebLTE packages are available and may be considered as a replacement option. LTE provides a wireless internet solution that does not require fibre installation and can be activated quickly, subject to coverage availability in your area. We understand the disruption this has caused, particularly after the extended waiting period and the expectation of installation. The cancellation has been completed in line with the network provider’s outcome. Kind regards,
 The Mweb Team
