Absolutely ridiculous and completely *********!
My first example of MWEB’s utterly ********* behavior is that they provided me with a unsolicited so called “free upgrade” (which was not a choice, it was automatic) to a 4mb (from 2mb) uncapped data package on 03 October 2016 (yes, I still have the email). Problem is, they drastically cut on ADSL prices on 06 October 2016 (https://mybroadband.co.za/news/adsl/181682-massive-mweb-adsl-price-cuts.html) and instead of cutting my bill they charged me for the 4mb package instead of the 2mb which is what I signed up for in the first place. The problem with that is that only the data package was upgraded, not the line speed. So since then I was being charged for a 4mb data package while only being able to use 2mb line speed. For some reason they saw nothing wrong with charging me for 4mb data which I’m not able to use given my 2mb line (also rented from them). And why would they? They gave me a “free” upgrade right, albeit 3 days before they cut their ADSL prices which would have meant a R120-00 p.m. less on my bill. Granted, I was probably being a jackass to trust in human and “service provider” integrity. I know right, in this day and age in the R.S.A!!?? So here is my second issue. When I finally discovered this ridiculous situation, I phoned MWEB and explained the situation and asked them if they thought that this was at all ethical behavior on their part. That question was totally dodged. . . . So they downgraded me to a 2mb package and informed me that my shaping threshold will now be 90 GB instead of 150 GB. Imagine my surprise when I got home this evening and all my tabs were painfully slow. All speed testers showed BELOW 1 mb/s and the most optimistic one showed 1.15 mb/s, which is a far cry from where it should be. “But wait”, you might say! “Your threshold is now 60 GB less than it was”. Fair enough, I am a frequent Netflix patron. My problem is, I already payed for this month for a 4 mb package!! I don’t know, maybe I was on 149.99 GB and just crossed the 150 GB mark this evening (opening my browser), or maybe it is a complete coincidence. I’ll leave you guys to decide. I just think it is fairly suspect that this happened the same day I phoned them. I don’t believe a company should take out their frustration on their clients when they can no longer milk an extra R120-00 p.m. for which they did not provide any service for in the first place. Again, my opinion, you guys make up your own minds. Point is, if you are considering MWEB as service provider, my advice would be to keep looking.

The upgrade from 2MB to 4MB was at the same cost. No added cost for the bigger Data package. See link you provided.
We tried getting hold of you but to no avail.
