Absolute ****
Took out a 12 month contract in November 2022 and have had a problematic relationship since. WiFi speed is pretty much as advertised during off peak times, but from around 5 in the afternoon slows down to unusable levels. To try to mitigate this throttling I upgraded the package to a faster speed, although the extra money went off the debit order the speed of the broadband connection remained the same. Mweb blamed evotel for the issue and evotel blame mweb - regardless I'm paying mweb for a service I am not receiving. This along with the unexplained outages prompted me to look to cancel the subscription at the end of the contracted 12 month period. Cancellation cannot be done via the website, which provides a number to call that is only available 9-5 Monday to Friday which is great for the small minority of customers that actually have a job. After the compulsory hour long wait on hold the department that I got through to could not cancel the account. I got put on hold for another hour to get through to the cancellations department, and then got cut off. Phoned the original number again and got told the cancellations department would be in touch (after the compulsory hour on hold) within 3 working days. I asked if I could contact the department directly and apparently that is impossible. 3 days later I was contacted by the retentions department who didn't offer any incentive to stay with mweb but did say the cancellations department would be in touch within 5 working days. I have received an email from the cancellations department which wants me to pay an early exit fee for cancelling a contract that has already expired. I am sorely tempted to pay this just to get rid of the company but out of principle have decided to confront someone about it and launched a complaint to the complaints email (*** if you are interested) and whilst waiting for a reply decided it would be a good idea to approach on of the leadership team - it seems none of the people listed on the website actually still work at the company. So I'm still stuck with the debit order and have no idea what to try next. I'm going to wind up paying the extra money and inflate the current owners profits even more for a service they have not delivered - I would advise staying away from this turd of a supplier
