A Nightmare Experience with Mweb

I recently had the unfortunate experience of being a customer of Mweb, and I cannot emphasize enough how dismal my time with them has been. From subpar internet speeds to an utter lack of customer service, my journey with Mweb has been nothing short of a nightmare.

The horror started when I attempted to cancel my service due to the exorbitant increases and constant unavailability of service. Numerous calls, emails, and online requests went unanswered or were met with a robotic and unhelpful customer service representative (who literally require 20 minutes to answer a call each time). It seems that Mweb is more interested in trapping customers in their web of incompetence than actually providing a service worth paying for.

The cancellation process, which should have been straightforward, turned into a labyrinth of bureaucratic hurdles. Each attempt to terminate my subscription is met with a different excuse, first time around i was advised that the cancellation has been processed and i will receive an email confirming same within 48 hours- it has been 2 weeks since, i followed up many time inbetween , only to be advised 1. no cancellation is processed, 2. the cancellation department is experiencing a backlog and i need to wait for same as I was passed around from one uninformed representative to another. It became increasingly evident that Mweb cares little about its customers' satisfaction and more about squeezing every last penny out of them- as the cancellation carries a notice period on 1 calendar month, so until they process this cancellation on their end, i will be obliged to continue paying and unable to move to another, more capable / cost effective service provider.

To make matters worse, the company's refusal to acknowledge my repeated requests for cancellation is going to result in unwarranted charges continuing to appear on my bill. It's disheartening to see a company so blatantly disregard the basic principles of customer service and ethical business practices.

Just a word of advice from myself to Mweb: should my cancellation not be processed before the end of Jan 2024 (as i have provided sufficient otice since 04/01/2024), I WILL BE STOPPING THE DEBIT ORDER FROM MY ACCOUNT.

In conclusion, I strongly advise anyone considering Mweb to think twice before entering into a contract with this company. The frustration, wasted time, and lack of accountability I experienced during my time with them are indicative of a company that cares more about profits than customer satisfaction. Save yourself the headache and choose an ISP that values its customers and provides the service they promise.
