17 days and counting to move Fibre Line
It is the 17th October, I moved house on the 01st October and still no fibre. I transferred ownership of the previous line, here is where it all started to go pear shaped, eventually that happened on the 15th October and I could apply for a new service, Octotel activated the line in one day after receiving the request from Mweb (on a Saturday) like all businesses who want business should react. 10/10 for Octotel! I called technical to inform them and to please activate the service on their side...this of course has to be done by sales who don't work weekends. After being a client for 10 years I'm done, I have put in a request to cancel the order, it will probably take another 17 days but its been this long, I will wait however long it takes because this time I won't take their nonchalant attitude and absolute lack of understanding or willingness to help from their staff. I refuse to support enterprises that are monopolies and we are strung along like puppets by a multitude of employees who are clearly not trained to do anything that isn't on the 5 point check sheet. This is 2020 people, the fact that you cannot activate a service over the weekend is laughable. I am waiting for the order to be cancelled and will support Home Choice, they cost more but they activate services on weekends worth the extra R49/month to not have to deal with sales staff, technical staff and resending of emails to perform the seemingly impossible task of moving your fibre service to incidentally the same host (Octotel)! I f you are moving house and are currently with Mweb, do yourselves a favour and switch providers unless you have 17 days and counting (will be 19 on Monday) to wait for their super efficient staff to accomplish this seemingly massive task. I know that I would have fired someone but I guess this is why our country is referred to as 3rd world.
