Zero service and refusal to repairt phone
So, two weeks ago I handed my IPhone 8 in for repairs at the MTN shop in Balfour Park. Still under warranty. I did not think it was going to be an issue. Oh boy was I wrong!
First I had to fight with them to take it in. Seems that if you don;t have your original sales document (never mind it is all on their system since it was a contract upgrade) you cannot hand it in. Without a charger you cannot hand it in (really? Their iPhone repairer has no chargers and needs yours?) Then you must sign that you have turned off the "Find my phone" and disabled passwords to get in - or pay R380! (That was the next stumbling block- their person behind the desk could not disabel or turn them off. not a surprise since the phone was not connecting to the internet andthus neither feature cold be disabled. I just crossed out that section and refused to sign.)
So after a second trip (I had to go back to the office to get my charger to hand in with the phone...) I eventually got to send it in to repairs and was told 7-10 working days...
So today, ten working days later I go back. In the interim I have had: zero phonecalls zero emails zero communication at all
So silly me thinks maybe if I appear in person they will actually help me. Silly me. The person behind the counter did her best to appear as disinterested as possible. ALternatively just falling silent and saying nothing or busy working on her computer while ignoring me... Now I get told 7-14 working days BUT their is a backlog and there is no idea when it will be worked on (if ever at all...)
My conclusoiln: either MTN is so *********** they cannot repair the phone and are trying to delay admitting that or they really don't care aboiut their customers and think that they have to put up with them.
Guess no more contract renewals and moving to a new service provider at the end of this contract!
