ZERO RATING FOR MTN CUSTOMER SERVICE
I wish I could give a ZERO rating because I have just had it with MTN. My contract ended at the end of February 2024 and despite telling the telemarketers who kept calling that I didn't want a new handset, more kept calling. I finally spoke to one and clarified that I just wanted to keep paying for my minutes and nothing else , I thought I had completed the task of explaining myself...but I kept receiving the annoying phone calls. I then went o the Northgate Mall store, wasted 30 minutes with an agent who assured me that she had finalised everything on my account and would not be receiveing any more annoying calls. A few days later the MTN telemarketers started inundating me with calls AGAIN, offering me deals for handsets I didn't want. I went back to Northgate mall...wasted more time explaining to another agent whom I offered a debit card payment for the talk minutes that I wanted, letting her know that I had changed my banking details. She assured me that no payment was necessary because I would end up being debited from my new account anyway...I remember asking her if she was sure and she told me that she was sure because there were no PENDING issues on my profile... NOW my voice calls have been cut off because of non-payment, and I have to go the store AGAIN, to wait in a queue and talk to another clueless agent. In this day and age, who has the time to be standing around in queues to talk to some airheads repeatedly about the same issue???? Please train your agents so that they actually know what they are talking about, and that they give the same information for the same questions asked by clients... Whoever handles their training NEEDS to be trained themselves... When I do go to the store again...it is to terminate the contract altogether and migrate with my number to a different service provider who takes their customers a little more seriously. ENOUGH with the telemarketers already...I will buy a phone when I have decided I want one and not because I am due for a flipping upgrade. Stuff you MTN and goodbye
