YOU CANNOT CANCEL AN MTN CONTRACT

I tried to cancel a MTN contract six months before the contract expired to make sure that I conformed with their terms and conditions, during this time I made regular calls to their cancellation department holding for up to two hours at a time, this was all done at my expense and it’s a definite bank breaker, I was referred to various other departments but it always came back to "this can only be done with the cancellation department" there was no empathy for our situation and even after explaining my heart out that they don't answer calls I was told it was the only option. Eventually I went to my branch in Knysna and asked them to assist hoping it could be done in person but to my horror I was once again told it had to be done at the cancellation department, I asked her to please do this on my behalf because I'd had no luck, after an hour the staff kept reassuring us that the call would eventually be answered but after almost two hours I had no option but to walk out, I had my elderly 87 year old mother with me, she cannot go through this impossible procedure on her own (how vulnerable we all are especially the elderly in these situations), this proved my point you CANNOT cancel an MTN contract, it’s been around nine months now since I started this process, MTN keep billing my mother and we keep getting calls from MTN offering an upgrade. I think this is blatant ***** and an independent investigation needs to be done. I would like to warn other potential customers that you CANNOT cancel an MTN contract even if the contract has come to an end, this looks to me like a tactic used by MTN, your contract eventually becomes evergreen with no end in sight.
