Wrongful recycling of my sim number.
The summary here is that MTN retrieved my sim number for recycling without following due process. I have been using the sim number ********** 612 since March/April 2014. In 2016 I signed up for a One2One airtime contract with Markham of which I requested termination in November 2017. In the termination correspondence, I received information that my sim would temporarily stop working when the termination gets effective and was instructed to communicate One2One to reconnect my sim back to the network. I travelled out of RSA on the 28th November and I discovered my sim lost network on the 30th of November. When I got to my destination I informed One 2One of my sim loss of network and requested reconnection which I was informed was done but my sim still did not show network. I was then further informed that I had to do a re-Rica of my sim before it can work again. My return to RSA was on the 1st of February and I did a re-Rica of my sim which still did not show any network. I then called Mtn customer care and I was told my sim needed activation but I could not dial the code given to me from my sim because it was not connecting to the network. I then resorted to getting a new sim and asking for a sim swap but then I was told I didn't answer some questions about my sim correctly and that I must forward my SA ID, an Affidavit to the effect of my ownership and the story around my complaints which I promptly did. Then I received an email message from Mtn customer care that my sim has been marked for recycling on the 1st of February 2018 which was exactly 2 months of sim being out of use. For this they cited their reason was that my sim was not used for 3 months which I found unacceptable, as this was not true. Now I have been missing important personal and business informations as a result of Mtn action regarding my sim. I would like to have my sim back, to have closure on this issue.
