Wrong contact as well as debit order issues

On Black Friday (24 Nov 2017) I went to the MTN store at Preller Walk Bloemfontein to apply for a data deal (20GB daytime and 10GB night time data @ R199 per month). I only received my sim card on the 13th of December 2017 after I called repeatedly, they never called me. When I placed the sim in a device, I saw I only had 5GB daytime data. I contacted the store and they said they will sort it out. On the 22nd of December they did call to tell me they are still busy. On the 3rd of January 2018, I received a SMS informing me that I did not pay and MTN will suspend my service if I do not pay the R270 (not R199). I went to the store once again to inform them and ask why I’m paying more as well as why my debit order they set did not go through. They said they will lock another complaint. It is now the 23rd of January and I’m still waiting.

Thank you for your post.

We sincere apologized for any inconvenience incurred.

Kindly be advised that your first invoice will be based on prorata.

On invoice date 2017-12-11 you had pro-rate charges which means that you were first charged subscriptions fees for the days you were activated which is 2017-11-29 until the close of that invoice date 12-12-2017 you were then charged a month in advanced for the billing period.

Pro rate billing is typical for your first month on contract and your bailing will resume to normal thereafter.

Note that all subscriptions fees are charged in advanced and usage is billed in arrears.

The invoice for is January is billed R199.00.

The account balance is R477.60

The account is on cash method and the account need to be paid 21 days from the invoice date.

Please make payment for R 278.60

Well the store told me that I do not need to pay it in cash since they did set the debit order, they set it three times and still it’s on cash payer, makes me wonder about the competency. When will I receive the correct amount of data that I signed my contract for? You are charging me for something I’m not getting! I only received the sim on the 13th of December, how can I be charged from 29 Nov to 12 Dec if I did not even have it?
