Worst MTN Upgrade experience ever!
I have visited your MTN branch in Woodlands, Pretoria a couple of weeks ago. The manager was very reluctant to assist me and to help me with information on my upgrade. I even said to them that I do get the impression that he doesn’t want to help me. He “tried” to check my average spent and gave me a ridiculous amount of just more than R200 which was totally wrong. Then at the end the store didn’t have any Samsung A70 phones and the manager put my name on a waiting list. After 2 weeks I was still waiting for my phone and never received any feedback from MTN Woodlands.
So I decided to do my upgrade my phone on the MTN website and received a message on the 11th of October that my upgrade has been successful. Eventually I received a call from MTN Woodlands saying that they did receive a phone for me on which I’ve declined their offer because I’ve completed the online upgrade.
Then a MTN operator phoned me on the 14th of October requesting that I should do an upgrade??? So I said I did but she couldn’t confirm that? I was to confused and worried since it appeared that my upgrade was not on your system? She couldn’t verify my upgrade? Also she couldn’t confirm delivery? Then she told me she is phoning from Durban? Well, she couldn’t help or assist me with my upgrade which left me very confused and uncertain as to the status of my upgrade.
Then MTN's delivering company phoned me twice to confirm delivery of my phone on 21 October. On 18/10/2019 at 06:40 I did confirm with them the delivery address and requested them to deliver the phone BEFORE 12:00 on 21/10/2019. They confirmed that they will see to my instruction. The delivery from DSV? was not made before 12:00. DSV sent me a sms at 12:42 that they are at the delivery address. I responded that they were late and requested to arrange another delivery time and place with me. They never responded.
On a response email from MTN customer care, they gave me a number for the DSV delivering company ***. However the number does not exist / “number you have dialed is incorrect”. I have phoned it several times.
I sent emails to MTN Customer Care, no response. Today is the 24th of October and I still don’t have a phone.
This is totally unacceptable.
