Worst experience for first time customer - MTN (CanalWalk, Cape Town)
As a first time client that moved his mobile services over to MTN – I’ve received nothing but bad service.
Initial purchase - The phone was purchased on the 7 Jan 19. Of which I was placed on the wrong billed and instead of getting 20 GB as promised I only got 15 GB. Eventually my problem was resolve, after I had to prove to them that they billed me wrong. I was not happy with this, but felt it was fixed so I left it at that.
1. Thereafter another issues occurred - On the 25 Feb 19, I had book my phone in due to a faulty screen (The liquid from the motherboard was running into the screen). With this, after not hearing from MTN, CanalWalk, Cape Town, I went in to discover that MTN never had my correct number. (Two weeks passed by now).
2. Thereafter, I spoke to Sonwabo Ngubombi and he informed me that he will order me a phone from another branch. Once again, I had to wait and it was when I went in that I discovered - the branch they order the phone from, had to do a stock take and with this couldn’t send the stock. During this same period, they staff member that assisted me informed the manager but could not CC me in on the mail due to their procedures (By now I’m in week 3).
3. This time Chad (2IC to the manager got involve), he promised that I will get a phone by the end of the week (by the 5 Apr 19) and that he will personally sort it out. I decided to go in on Thursday (4 Apr 19) to activate my phone for international roaming since I will be on leave between the 8 to the 18 Apr 19. Just to discover that Chad took leave and that the manager: Riaaz Davids was informed, but never followed up on my request. Furthermore, I have not received any calls back and the only feedback I’ve received was when I go in (Its now 4 Weeks)
My concern as a first time customer to MTN, is that I regret taking a produce out since I’m being charge for a phone that I don’t have. Also that I am still without a phone after 4 weeks and now I’m on holiday – Which means that if the phone comes: “Do I not even know if they will keep the produce out for me”. As a first time customer – I am disappointed in Sonwabo Ngubombi, Chad (2IC to the manager) and Riaaz Davids for not helping me. I wouldn’t do business with MTN or refer them as I am being charges for a product which I don’t have.
Could you please assist – Unfortunately, I will be out of South Africa and will only return on the 19 Apr 19.
