WORST CUSTOMERS SERVICE AND BILLING EVER.

On the 1st of Nov 2018 my debit order failed due to my salary being deposited late. As soon as I received the bank confirmation that the debit ordered failed, I made a eft deposit for more than the amount that failed. Due to me being afraid that this might happen again (especially when the end of the month falls over a weekend), I changed my banking details with my employer and also changed my debit order details with MTN. On the 26th of November, my service with MTN got suspended, even though payment was made as previously stated and the consultant saw that. We confirmed that my debit order would go through on the 1st of December (against the new bank details) and that everything was fine. The debit order did go through on the 1st, but then a second debit order went off on the 3/4th for the exact same amount. I phoned MTN again, and the consultant couldn't see why a second debit order was charged. She told me to ask my bank to reverse the debit order as the MTN system only shows 1 debit order and its for the 1st of each month. I reversed the debit order as per MTN consultant's suggestion. This morning (7 December) I received a sms stating that I have been migrated to a cash account due to my debit order failing and that I now have 21 days from invoice date (26 Nov) to pay my invoice. I phoned MTN again and they told me that there is nothing they can do even though they see my account is NOT in arrears. This is the way that their system works and no changes to my account can't be made. They apparently had to make an arrangement to unsuspend my account, therefore the 2nd debit order. (None of this was discussed during my call on the 26th. Even though my account is not in arrears) Again...don't know why the account got suspended in the first place as payment was made and my account is NOT in arrears. Because I only get paid on the last working day of the month I need to make an arrangement with MTN around the 15/16th of each month (when payment is now due) to not suspend / unsuspend my account with a payment arrangement for the end of the month (with payment to take place via debit order by the way) for next 3 months until they are able to change my status to debit order again. So even though I'm not in arrears, I now have to be inconvenienced to make arrangements for the next 3 months. So in short, I now get punished for a debit order that failed, that shouldn't have been created by MTN in the first place, due to a suspension that shouldn't have been implemented in the first place on an account that NOT in arrears. I supposed that's how you win customers. What company works with a system where NO employee is capable of correcting mistakes? No wonder they are losing 800k customers a year. By this rate they would be closing their doors in the not to distant future. I'm definitely going to cancel my contracts when they expire. I'll also make sure that our company's business accounts don't get renewed when they are up. This is totally ridiculous.
