WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER

My regular debit is on the 1st of every month. On 1 February 2017 this debit did not come out of my account. I left the funds available incase there was a problem on their side.

About a week later, i got a text saying that i was in arrears and needed to pay.

I called MTN on 808 and attempted to resolve this - i was told that my debit had failed due to insufficient funds. I stated that this was not the case, and they should attempt to debit again.

This debit came off of my account a day later (a few rands more than they are supposed to) and i thought this was settled even though i was debited over by a few rands.

This morning i received a text that indicated a debit of more than double my agreed monthly fee. I called in and spoke to a female (very arrogant in her tone )who escalated to her Contact Centre Manager Mohammed Ali (as he introduced himself). This gentleman, had no idea what he was talking about and proceeded to go around in circles, not listening and exercising the same arrogant tone as his agent. EVENTUALLY, after over an hour of arguing, he advised that that he would check with his billing department and get back to me. As soon as i came back off hold, i was speaking to somebody in the billing department named Luqmaan (as he introduced himself). This gentleman listened attentively and was a breathe of fresh air advising m that he saw the error on their system and would call me back in 30 minutes to an hour and provided a reference number.

Two hours later i call back to be told that there is no notes of any sort, and the little that was there indicated NO RESOLUTION OR RECORD OF MY ISSUE. i then had to explain the entire situation again to which the call was dropped on me, called again, placed on hold for a supervisor, only for the call to be dropped on me again.
Eventually i call back again only to be told that even though i made the payment manually (for their mistake) and they can see this, they will still double debit my account. I express my dissatisfaction with this and im told that they can do nothing about this. I then advise them that i will cancel the debit and they can call me to process another manual payment - im told that MTN do not call their customers back, they only follow up via email!!
In reluctance i agree to call to process the manual payment again (for their mistake) only to be told that even if i do this, i will STILL be double debited in the following month.

I am at a complete loss for words right now. My contract expires in October and i will NEVER EVER contract with this excuse for a NP.
I would like for my debit to return to the original amount AND for the excess charges in January and February (manual payment) to be refunded to me. If this is not done, i want to cancel my contract with NO contract break fees for BOTH handsets.

Hi Kevin,

Since you have responded to this complaint, i have had no relief whatsoever. I am now left to call in each month to process a manual payment because your "system" cant recognise that i was credited and so will attempt to take extra funds every month. SERIOUSLY??

As of this morning my outgoing calls and data has been suspended?? HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO CALL YOU IF I CANT MAKE CALLS?????

I would like to formally request that my contract be cancelled IMMEDIATELY WITH NO PENALTIES OR CONTRACT BREAK FEES given the HORRIBLE customer service and inflexible systems. You are costing me money by not being able to make calls and i DEMAND to be compensated accordingly. i would rather be back on prepaid than have to deal with you people again.
