Worst Customer Care in South Africa

Hi,<br> <br> I recently had an accident with my phone and needed it to be repaired. I completed all the forms etc. for the phone insurance when I upgraded (8-9 months ago). The lady at the time helped me install my new sim and assured me that the insurance forms etc. are in order and won't be a problem.<br> <br> I walk into the MTN Clearwater Service Station with my broken phone and insurance contract in hand to claim, only to find that I don't have phone insurance - NOT A SINGLE CALL FROM MTN TO INFROM ME!!!<br> <br> So I dispute their statement and ask that they inquire why it was never processed and why nobody contacted me to rectify the situation. The response I get is as follows:<br> <br> \Unfortunately the risk of Insurance has not been accepted as the handset is being used in conjunction with stipulated handset (cellular telephone number)"- whatever that means!<br> <br> I explained the situation to the consultant and she said she will investigate further. Just to receive the most idiotic response ever: \""Client does not have insurance\""<br> <br> As far as I am concerned"

Hello AllanD,

Thank you for posting.

Please accept our apologies for the delay in response and any inconvenience caused as a result of this.
According to our records the sim card you received with the phone was not being used in the phone, that is why the claim was rejected on 21/07/2014.

Unfortunately the risk of Insurance has not been accepted as the handset is being used in conjunction with stipulated handset (cellular telephone number)
Regards
Jean
