I have been with MTN since 1991 and initially had good service, but lately things have changed. They seem to short of funds. I had signed up, some years back, for 2 x 1Gb contracts @R80 pm. There was no need for them anymore as I am now on pension and have WiFi. The cost of each was now R180pm???. I requested cancellation last year, due to financial constraints from Covid, and was told NO, I must wait until the contract ends in Jan. I tried calling in Jan, via 135, but after a couple of hours I gave up and sent a mail. After 2 more emails requesting cancellation I went to a store and was told that I can only cancel via 135. So after another good few hours on the phone I managed to get through and I cancelled all my contracts and was told that within 254 hours they would be cancelled and all Data/minutes would be cancelled as well. I find this very disturbing as they had deducted the monthly cost the day before, so I have just paid R500+ to them for nothing. How can a company treat good clients and ***** money from clients like this??? I will never purchase anything from them again and hope that many others follow suit
