WiFi data billed over R6000 instead of R138
Hi,

I have a data line from MTN, ***, which I've never received a single monthly statement for. All the time I thought my voice line, ***, was the main cause of my high monthly costs for MTN.

I decided to upgrade the voice line and I capped it at R649. While I was busy upgrading that line MTN agents advised that I can also downgrade my data line as it was also due and I was paying excessively. I downgraded it as well to R138 for 2 GB per month.

To my surprise my January bill was over R3000, but I thought it might be residual from other months. In February my bill was over R7000. I fumed and I started requesting statements from MTN. Voice was fine at R649, but data was over R6000.

I logged my first query on the 26th of February 2015. I've been calling them consistently and I get to different people all the time. Nobody, I mean nobody from MTN, has even tried to contact me either via SMS, call, or email just to acknowledge receipt of my problem let alone resolution. Instead, when I called, they told me that the query has be closed because they provided the statements, without me receiving them and also agreeing to closure as the initiated of the query.

Lungile
