Why must customers be penalized for your change in billing dates

I have been a loyal customer of MTN for many years. MTN since has changed their billing dates from the 21st then to the 16th and now the 5th of every month. My agreed contract amount is R1099.00, this month MTN billed me R1903.00, I received no call, no sms, no email notification regarding this amount. The call centre advises this is now because the billing has changed and you are no longer billed in arrears going forward. This is not how customers should be treated, you have no right to take money from my account without my permission and neither do you even care to notify customers. MTN has left a bitter taste in my mouth and going forward I will definitely not be renewing my contract.

Hi Alice,

Thank you for your response.

However none of my questions have been answered ?

1) Why was this additional amount never communicated to me ?
2) Who gave MTN permission to debit this amount without my consent ?

As much as MTN has rights to make changes, the consumer also has rights.
