Why did I even port to MTN!?!

I ported my Telkom number to MTN about 2 months ago. I even went to a MTN store and the staff were understanding and tried to help as best they can. But the MTN network never ported my number to a MTN sim card. Even Telkom confirmed that the number is being serviced by MTN. I have tried for weeks to contact the call centre (all i get is a recorded message) and have even email, but no one can help me get my ported number on to a MTN sim. Do they even want people want to be on tbeir network!?!
